This route is a loop that branches off the Taff Trail near the Pont y Gwaith bridge over the river Taff near Quakers Yard. Travelling north along the Taff Trail from Abercynon you reach this junction where the Taff Trail continues down the hill to the left towards Pont y Gwaith bridge which is covered in a previous post. If instead you climb the steep hill to the right right you join the old A470 Cardiff Road. Turn left and in about 100m take this turning on the right which is known as Parish Road.
