The ease with which podcasts can be created and distributed through services such as iTunes has led them to be promoted as a way to provide a voice to individuals. Yet the most popular podcasts are ones that have come from already established broadcasters or even corporate radio entitles that are able to build off of their established brands. As a result, I argued that podcasts do not really represent a strengthening of individual voices, even when listeners’ stories are integrated into these more popular podcasts.
