I haven’t been active for months now. And i’m sorry for that. But here i would like to talk to you about kendo, the keiko side and the competition side. The word Keiko is almost the same as practice but it gives a certain ascetic nuance to it. So it’s not the same as your come-to-the-gym-and-do-treadmill kind of practice. In kendo we push ourselves. We exert ourselves. And yet we are in full control of it. I guess that is one of the basic of budo which most of us would agree. In keiko we try wazas, we simulate one hit kill situations, and we discipline ourselves to it. And through it we will strive in kendo. And then comes the competition. Where winning is a part of it.
