Ίσως όμως να μην υπάρχει κανένα άλλο βιβλίο οικονομικής ιστορίας και σκέψης, εκτός από τις Οικονομικές Συνέπειες της Ειρήνης του Keynes, από το οποίο μπορούμε να αντλήσουμε γνώσεις και διδάγματα για την ελληνική κρίση. Ο Keynes ήταν επίσημος αντιπρόσωπος της Βρετανίας στην συνδιάσκεψη που είχε γίνει στο Παρίσι με την λήξη του 1 ου Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου και η οποία έμεινε στην ιστορία για την υπογραφή της Συνθήκης των Βερσαλλιών.
