Maximilian Nickel Maximilian Nickel About me I am interested in modeling and understanding complex systems via artificial intelligence, including networks, dynamics, emergence, and the interplay of AI with the social systems in which they are situated. For this purpose, I’m combining fundamental research on geometric representation learning, neural dynamical systems, and generative AI for complex systems. Some things that I’ve done recently Program Chair for ICLR 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda; first major AI/ML conference located in Africa. Outstanding paper award at NeurIPS 2021 for our work on simulation-free generative modeling via Moser Flow. High-resolution COVID-19 forecasts , used by New Jersey and New York state response teams, highly weighted in CDC ensemble, incl. in reports to EU commission.
