I am going to record my thoughts about these visits on my blog ‘Muses on Museums’. However much I like visiting museums, there is something great about visiting a site, the chance to explore and see the surroundings. It gives you the opportunity to really stop and think about the history of the site, rather than looking at objects out of context, behind glass, in a museum. So, I went off on a visit to Beeston Castle. I’ve been passed it a couple of times on the train, and it is in an impressive setting.
