To say I was opposed to the idea would be an understatement. I am not a fan of cold weather. But I also could not pass the opportunity to visit the place dubbed as ‘heaven on earth’ in India. The airport at Srinagar was not a big one and the moment I stepped out of the plane I was greeted with the crispy chilly air and the freezing cold weather (it was around 5 degrees but for me, it well below freezing point). Our first stop was Sonmarg. We were assured that we would see our first glimpse of snow there. In all honesty, I wanted to borrow myself inside the blankets and never get up but the promise of snow was too tempting.
