Penelitian terkait SI ini sudah banyak dilakukan, seperti Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), dll. Algoritma ABC adalah algoritma yang terinspirasi oleh perilaku koloni lebah madu dalam mencari makanan. Kelebihan ABC jika dibandingkan dengan algoritma lain yaitu sangat sederhana dan fleksibel. Namun, jika dimensi masalah meningkat, pertukaran informasi masih terbatas pada satu dimensi.
