January 19, 2025 寧靜之城 La Serenissima (I) 我開始緩慢地了解威尼斯。近年來每次出國都有如出差，但又不是什麼創業家，每次短暫停留單純是「錢歹賺，囝細漢」，沒有太多餘裕容納其他私人行程。我就覺得遺憾，自己該不會這次還看不到提香和喬久內。不過上次誤打誤撞，計劃中或偶然中還是去了幾個地方：Rialto Bridge 是渡船大站到不用說，其他如猶太人的隔離區（ghetto）、某些豪氣的會堂（scuola）、小巷弄中突然映入眼簾的巨大圓頂，有些很義大利，有些是威尼斯獨有。最近偶然讀到別人討論莎士比亞的威尼斯商人，如何把一毛不拔的猶太人刻板印象印入現代人的腦中，又把我打回那個安靜的「Nuovo Ghetto」，很難想像當橋樑在夜晚被封閉的時候，這座孤島要容納五千個居民。 所謂的報復性旅遊是，當年 A School 要到威尼斯待上一個月的田野教學因為911而中斷，二十年後這個城市就像是回魂了那樣不斷召喚我。雖然本質上它就是一個觀光城市，白天大家湧入島內，下班後回到內陸的terra firma，島上有如空城。我在渡船上曾看過一位不太像遊客、帶著三歲小孩的平民，一聊之下才知道她是住在本島，到離島探望祖父母。但這是特例，渡船上大概五十個人中只有一位是本地人吧。所謂的寧靜之城，La Serenissima，已經是一個徒具空殼的巨大建築迪士尼。對了，威尼斯也有幾個離島，其中最有名之一叫做Lido。以前台南市有家電影院叫「麗都」，小時候的Star Wars是在那裡看的，連譯名都這麼美，原來這名字也來自威尼斯。 即使作爲標本，城市卻還...
