Often touted as ‘one of the greatest classics’ or ‘John Steinbeck’s magnum opus’. A friend of mine suggested me to read this few years ago. But for some reason I was putting it off. Maybe because of his love for sci-fi, I never bothered to know what the book is about. But I’ve been missing out. A closer look at the prologue should have told me that. Because I love dramas. East of Eden is a page-turner which re-tells the story of Cain and Abel set in Salinas valley of California. It is a story about good and evil. But most of all, it’s a story about choice. For me, the most important part of the book was the realization made by Lee, Samuel and Adam when they were discussing the story of Cain and Abel.
