Ο Β. κοίταξε τον λίθο διστακτικά και σάστισε…Τον άγγιξε και ένιωσε τις αλλεπάλληλες επεμβάσεις που διαδέχονταν η μια την άλλη, στις φθαρμένες από τις χρήσεις επιφάνειές του. Σ .«Προφανώς, είναι ένα μαρμάρινο κατώφλι από τα μνημεία της περιοχής, έτσι δεν είναι;» βιάστηκε να παρατηρήσει η αρχαιολόγος. Ν .«Μια από τις χρήσεις του ήταν αυτή, αλλά μάλλον θα δυσκολευτούμε να τον τοποθετήσουμε σε συγκεκριμένη θέση…» της απαντώ. Σ . «Γιατί;» Β .«Βλέπεις την στενή ταινία εδώ; Αυτή είναι από την πρώτη χρήση του λίθου…στην βάση του ορθοστάτη ενός μκρού ναού, ο οποίος δεν υπάρχει πια... Έχω και άλλα κομμάτια από αυτόν, κάτι γείσα και λιθόπλινθους από τον τοίχο του σηκού. Ύστερη κλασσική ε; Τι λές Ν.;» Ν . «Αν κρίνω από το σωζόμενο ύψος, έχεις δίκιο... Βλέπεις τον τόρμο της μολυβδοχόησης εκεί και την πρόσθετη επεξεργα...
