A soul generated by love." - Martin Luther King Jr. Some patients have an excellent prognosis however, therapy and/or location of the tumor can cause significant life change. Other patients have a very poor prognosis despite aggressive therapeutic intervention. Along with the devastating diagnosis and physical disease, families often face severe financial set back, separation or divorce, and an increase in mental health issues, such as PTSD. This Christmas campaign was birthed out of Kate's own battle with aggressive brain cancer. In 2009, she was hospitalized undergoing chemotherapy and was unable to spend Christmas or her birthday, the following day, with her family or friends.
