Beberapa puluh tahun yang lalu (20 tahun? 25 tahun?), saya pernah ke Beijing tetapi itu saja. Pada saat itu, tahun 2000-an, China sedang berkembang (dengan pesat). Sekarang sudah terlihat perkembanganannya. Perjalanan saya dimulai dari Singapore. Dari bandara Changi, saya menggunakan Shenzhen Airlines menuju Shenzhen. Penerbangan menempuh waktu sekitar 4 jam lebih sedikit. Pesawat yang digunakan tidak terlalu besar, 737. Mungkin ada sekitar 30 baris dengan 6 orang per barisnya (3 di kiri dan 3 di kanan). Penerbangan penuh! Biayanya? Sekitar Rp. 8 juta pulang pergi. Perjalanan berangkat dari pukul 12 siang waktu Singapura. Sesampainya di Shenzhen turun pesawat tidak melalui balai-balai tetapi turun tangga biasa. Kemudian penumpang ditransfer ...
