Filed under: Alle deutschen Beiträge , Uncategorized — ramran @ 5:54 pm Viel mehr als Ahorn und Bären fiel mir erstmal nicht zu Kanada ein, bevor ich kürzlich die Koffer packte und hinfuhr. Auch wenn man eine Weile überlegt, was Kanada so auszeichnet oder was dort so passiert, kommt erstmal lange nichts. Der kurze Aufenthalt lehrte mich aber (natürlich) eines Besseren. Ahornbäume und Ahornsirup sind tatsächlich allerorts und bestimmen Landschaftsbild und Shoppingdüfte. Aber dann sind da auch die Niagara-Fälle mit ihrer ungemeinen Dramatik. Der Weg dorthin ist gemächlich; es gehtvorbei an Blumenschauen und kleinen Kapellen. Dann aber sieht man den Wasserqualm aufsteigen, den die sambischen Einwohner nahe der afrikanischen Viktoria-Fälle bildhaft als Mosi-o-Tunya bezeichnen: “Der Qualm, der donnert”.
