Thank you Aaron Boardman Has a Good Heart, but It Needed Some Work Back in September, Aaron began experiencing weakness and shortness of breath. He attributed it to aging and wanted to ignore the signs that eventually were diagnosed as heart failure due to a malfunctioning mitral valve. After a TEE (trans-esophageal echocardiogram) showed that his mitral valve needed to be either repaired or replaced, and his condition was too dire to allow him to return home, he was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, March 1. The following weeks, much like a game of Whack-a-Mole, consisted of trying to correct one thing and then having another pop up, necessitating yet another delay until he was stable enough to undergo the open-heart surgery that would save his life.
