Karena di situ belum ada jembatan penyebrangan, maka sang penunggang kuda tadi hanya bisa hilir mudik di tepi sungai sambil mencari bagian sungai yang terlihat dangkal, sehingga kudanya bisa menyebrang tanpa harus melewati jembatan. Namun setelah hampir satu jam hilir mudik, tidak juga ditemukan bagian sungai yang dangkal. Hingga akhirnya sang penunggang kuda ketemu dengan anak-anak kecil yang bermain di tepi sungai. "Wahai adik-adik, tahukah kalian di manakah bagian sungai ini yang dangkal?" Anak-anak tadi saling berpandangan, lalu sala seorang menunjuk arah yang dimaksud penunggang kuda tersebut. Setelah mengucap terimakasih, penunggang kuda tersebut lalu menuju tempat yang dimaksud. Kudanya mulai diajak menyeberang. Namun baru beberapa langkah kuda tersebut sudah terendam badanya dan mulai meronta-ronta ingin berbalik ara...
