Regulate Coal Ash Right Home Tell Congress to Act Now to Regulate Coal Ash It's time for Congress to pass legislation to regulate coal ash in a manner that strengthens environmental protection and ensures the safety of coal ash sites. Congress should approve legislation that regulates coal ash as a non-hazardous waste, protecting human health and the environment, jobs, and electricity consumers. Regulating coal ash right will allow for the continued recycling of coal ash in beneficial ways. Congressional action also will help to preserve good American jobs in industries that recycle coal ash, while safeguarding the environment. We believe legislation should establish baseline federal requirements for the disposal of coal ash that are enforced by the states.
