In general terms, craft is considered to be something that creates a useful, practical object, whereas art is something that creates a wholly expressive object that has no other use in the world than being aesthetically pleasing. So does that mean something labelled ‘art’ is simply an extravagant, useless extra appendage in the grander scheme of things?
