Tidak Ada Istilah “Tarawih” Kata “tarawih” adalah bentuk plural dari kata “tarwihah”, yang secara kebahasaan memiliki arti “ mengistirahatkan” atau “duduk istirahat”. Maka dari sudut bahasa, salat tarawih adalah salat yang banyak istirahatnya. Kemudian, tarawih dalam nomenklatur Islam digunakan untuk menyebut salat sunah malam hari yang yang dilakukan hanya pada bulan Ramadan. Pada masa Rasul tidak ada istilah “salat tarawih”. Dalam hadis-hadisnya, Rasul tidak pernah menyebut kata itu. Dan kata yang digunakan adalah “qiyam ramadhan”. Tampaknya istilah “tarawih” muncul dari penuturan Aisyah, isteri Rasul.
