In the article below it discusses future buildings being designed to be responsive to fluctuations in the surrounding climate in hopes to increase their resource efficiency. The technology is referred to as “Protocell cladding” which takes advantage of bioluminescent bacteria or other such materials by using them as coatings for the outside of building structures.
