Serving in the Sand Serving in the Sand Keeping in touch far from home. Saturday, January 3, 2009 Dont Just Wish For a Happy New Year Make it happy. Last year was good to me, but there was an unnecessary overabundance of ill will. The political realities of a contested election that is some areas also incorporated religious distinctions made the incivility much worse. The economic realities that will be in this year will add to the stresses that are on all of us, some more oppressively than others. In this year, remembering and living the Golden Rule more perfectly would be a good resolution for everyone. "It is said by them of old, to love your neighbor but hate your enemy, but I say unto you, love your enemies,bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you." And if you can do this to your enemies, why not also to your family and friends and the strangers that you meet along the way. A little kindnes...
