I didn’t have a choice as our DIY itinerary was packed, and even then we had to let go of Tian Shan mountains, parks and museums in Urumqi in order to make it back home in 14 days. The feeling getting out of Kashgar airport was of nervousness seeing the uniformed enforcers posts around the exit. Contrary with Turpan (Tulufan) where cabs avoided us due to language barrier, the cab drivers in Kashgar were escorting us and gather around with phones out getting ready for translate apps.
