Kebenaran dan kepalsuan pada umumnya adalah sesuatu yang boleh dibuktikan. Kebenaran pada hakikatnya adalah sesuatu yang menepati kewajaran kejadian dan dapat diterima oleh akal norma, dan jika ada cabaran ia dapat dipertahankan. Apakah definasi kebenaran yang lebih dapat diberikan selain dari hakikat tersebut? Contoh kebenaran ialah seperti manisnya gula. Kita boleh mengatakan gula manis tetapi apa buktinya? Buktinya ialah lidah merasakan manisnya itu. Demikian juga apabila manusia itu ada mulut, maka nyatalah kebenaranya pada kejadian. Berhujah dan berbahas adalah salah satu cara membuktikan kebenaran.
