Forty days have come and gone. My 40/40 experiment was indeed a fruitful one, but not necessarily in the way I expected. It’s true that I had the intention of walking, yoga’ing, creating, and meditating for forty days straight. But, guess what? That didn’t happen. Knowing myself, that’s not a surprise as my goals frequent on the aspirational rather than the practical. What was surprising is how easy I’ve been on myself about it. Perhaps it’s because I also added a daily ritual where I decided on the things that I will leave in my 30s and cultivate in my 40s. Did you ever make paper chains in anticipation of Christmas? When a ring gets torn away, you’re one day closer to the best day of the year. So I decided to make one for the 40 days leading up the big birthday...
