He has also won Emmy Awards for his work in television plus numerous other honors. He is the co-founder and executive producer of Carols by Candlelight - an annual Christmas concert which will celebrate its 34th anniversary in 2023. Carols raises money for charities serving children in San Diego County - most recently Rady Children’s Hospital. In 2014 he was elected mayor of Poway, CA.
