Postage to the Past On my way back home from work on the Tube, I found a pound’s worth of postage stuck on my scarf. I was toying around with the scarf absent-minded lay. It was quasi-wet and definitely cold from a whole evening of rain, and I was glad to be able to take it off once I was in the warm bowels of the London Underground. Queen Elizabeth II and her majestic profile were definitely misplaced on my scarf. Not only do postage stamps not belong on scarves; the staid, respectable brown and white of the stamp seemed particularly out of place on my lurid, colourful scarf. I thought long and hard about how this stamp might’ve ended up here. Funnily enough, my mother brought my this scarf from Bangalore when I visited her in Madrid last weekend.
