Sybaritica » Skip to content Sybaritica Sad News … 2024-10-12 Hey all … It’s been a pretty bad week all around. I lost a much loved pet and have been feeling the loss. Shadow was a rescue kitty. I discovered her living under my house up north in Iqaluit just over 8 years ago. She had been abandoned and would not have survived the Arctic Winter. I initially tried to have the local shelter take her on and when they asked if I would be interested in fostering, I told them I was living alone and was out of town a week or ten days out of every month. Anyway, they eventually prevailed by promising to have someone come in and check on her and put food down every few days when I was travelling. I know, of course, that once I accepted, she wouldn’t really be a ‘foster’ as there would be no way I could give her up.
