Kemarin dulu, sepulang dari kabupaten Malaka, kami turun di sebuah desa terisolir di pinggiran kota Kupang. Satu-satunya cara untuk bisa mengakses kampung tersebut dengan berjalan kaki. Melewati persawahan dan menyeberang sungai berlumpur yang tak berjembatan. Air yang menjadi andalan kehidupan warga ini tentu keruh dan masih anyir. Aroma bangkai ternak yang tersekat di antara sampah air bah masih tersisa nyata. Pahamlah diri ini, kenapa anak-anak meminta saya tinggal di mobil saja, karena khawatir “Si relawan termuda” ini, tak kuat berjalan kaki di tanah berbatu tajam selain pematang sawah.
