Ted Hsuan Yun Chen Ted Hsuan Yun Chen Home Research Teaching Past Banners Welcome to my website. I am an assistant professor at George Mason University studying climate change politics using network methods. I was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki and Aalto University, and I received my PhD in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University. My research agenda focuses on the social and political consequences of climate change and efforts to stem these often unequal outcomes. I study the heterogeneity in how individuals adapt to climate change exposure, including through political participation and migration, and how activism and science communication influence preferences toward climate policies. I also have a methodological focus in developing network approaches for studying complexity in political phenomena, with emphasis on multilayer network representations of social and political systems.
