Seems that, for me, Madmen didn’t live up to the hype. I made it through an episode but that’s possibly as far as it will go. After the fish pedicure , this might be the second challenge that I don’t repeat. I was surprised to find this. After catching the morning after debates in the office for the past year and watching the eager exchange of DVDs, I was waiting to be blown away and instantly hooked – I could, after it was pointed out to me, see the skill in perfectly capturing another era but… I’ve been trying to work out what didn’t do it for me. Possibly, it was the fact that I didn’t warm to the characters which meant that I didn’t really invest in – or care about – what was going on.
