Θανάσης Τριαρίδης - Thanasis Triaridis ; Μόλις της φέρανε της Σαλώμης την κεφαλή του Ιωάννη, αυτή όντως έκανε το αναμενόμενο: φίλησε τα χείλη σα λυσσασμένη, έγλειψε το αίμα με άφατη ηδονή. Το κακό είναι πως, αν κανείς γλείψει αίμα από κομμένο λαιμό, δεν πάψει ποτέ του να το θέλει, όλο και περισσότερο, με δίψα ακόρεστη που τελειώνει μόνο με τον θάνατο. Η Σαλώμη άφησε το παλάτι, φόρεσε κουρέλια και βγήκε στις αμμουδιές της Γενισαρέτ. Πλάγιαζε με τους πάντες: ψαράδες, εμπόρους, περαστικούς, ζητιάνους – κι όταν τέλειωναν μέσα της ανίσχυροι από την έκρηξη της γκάβλας, τους καλοέκοβε το κεφάλι και έγλειφε λαίμαργα τον κομμένο λαιμό. Πρέπει ωστόσο να ασκούσε τρομερή γοητεία γιατί κανείς δεν την απέφευγε – ίσα-ίσα είχε γίνει ο θρύλος της Θάλασσας της Γαλιλαίας: κατά χιλιάδες έφταναν για να δοκιμάζουν το θανατηφόρο αγκάλιασμα της. Καθώς μάλιστα είχε αφήσει γένια κανείς δεν μπορούσε να φανταστεί πως ήταν η κόρη της Ηρωδιάδας. Σε όσους τη ρωτούσαν απαντούσε, ποιος ξέρει γιατί, πως την έλεγαν...
