The version on this website is the old version which will be replaced by Fall 2023. – The Humanitarian UAV Code of Conduct informs the safe, responsible and effective use of civilian drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in humanitarian settings. The Code was launched in 2014 by the Humanitarian UAV Network ( UAViators ). It was revised by more than 60 organizations through multiple open, multi-stakeholder consultations over the course of two years. In 2015, dedicated guidelines were added to the Code of Conduct to provide further guidance on Data Protection, Community Engagement, Effective Partnerships and Conflict Sensitivity.
