Although I have known since December last year, I can now officially announced that I have been appointed as the Canada Research Chair in Critical Surveillance and Security Studies at the University of Ottawa, following the Canadian government announcement of new research funding on Friday 14th June 2024. This 7-year, renewable, position will allow me to pursue some major research projects under the title Platform Cities in an Age of Planetary Surveillance , which you can read about on my Research page , and which I will be writing a lot more about here over the coming years.
