I’ve wanted to try s’mores ever since I heard about them as a freshman! The setting is perfect: the camp fire just outside Yosemite Valley, the tents, the group of friends. This recipe is probably engraved in every American kid’s memory, but it was a whole new world to me: You put a marshmallow on a stick and roast it on the fire until it becomes anywhere between slightly golden to, in my case, burnt black (oops).
