Ma se questo luogo ameno è la casa di un re, rifugio della sua intimità e culla della sua più grande passione, la vicenda si colora dei cupi colori dello scandalo. Questo paradiso perduto si trova nel Gloucestershire, Inghilterra, ad Highgrove House, tenuta del Settecento che dal 1980 è residenza privata, laboratorio botanico e incubatore di tecnologie sostenibili di Carlo III, allora principe del Galles e ora sovrano ambientalista e contadino per antonomasia.
