As other bloggers have written, having to involve an outside party to expand a family is not ideal. Frankly, it sucks. We seriously considered several options (purchasing both anonymous and WTBK sperm from a bank, and using a known donor). I can feel for people who have used each of those options successfully. We could have been successful using each of those options. We ended up being successful using known donor sperm and have three years+ under our belts of the experience. Using a known donor was right for our family as I believe that it is important for people to know or be able to access their genetic ancestry.
