I once read a quote that to become a mother is to allow your heart to go walking around outside of your body. During church today, I watched Logan play peek-a-boo with some teenage boys sitting on the bench behind us, then with the BIGGEST smile on his face he would watch in anticipation as they would copy his every move. I realized, in that moment, as I caught myself smiling just as big as he was, that he is my heart. It might sound crazy, but I literally felt as if my heart was beating not as my own, but for him. And sometimes, when I'm feeling down, it's as if his heart gives mine strength to beat on.
