This is because of the emphasis David puts on where his faith and hope lie:  v 1. “My soul waits in silence for God only .” v 2. “He  only is my rock and my salvation.” v 5. “My soul, wait in silence, for God  only .”  v 6. “He  only is my rock and my salvation.”  Here we see not only that David’s faith and hope are in God alone but the point is that only God can be those things. David later exhorts the readers to trust in Him at all times, casting our cares upon Him, because God is a refuge for us.
