My name is Abby, and this is a blog I’m creating for my Reader’s Advisory (RA) class at San Jose State University! For this course, I will be reading ~35 works of fiction of different genres—particularly those I’m unfamiliar with! I tend to stick to fantasy, sci-fi, and historical fiction, so this will be a bit of an eye-opener for me. I work in two public libraries in the circulation department, meaning I work firsthand with all library materials that are being checked out, returned, sent to other libraries, shelved, and being placed on hold. So, I have a pretty good sense of popular authors and popular genres among the library’s community—somebody returns a whole stack of C. J.
