Anna Collar Skip to content Anna Collar Home Lecturer in Roman Archaeology, University of Southampton, UK. I am a Classical archaeologist and ancient historian working on the epigraphy and material culture of religious practice; pilgrimage, sacred landscapes and the natural world; mobility and migration; emotion and experience; and interconnectivity, social networks and network analysis. I am a pioneer in the use of social network analytical methods to interpret religious movements in Classical antiquity, and a founder member of The Connected Past research network. Before moving to Southampton, I worked in Aarhus, Denmark, as part of the Sapere Aude funded project exploring the Emergence of Sacred Travel in the Graeco-Roman Mediterranean. http://projects.au.dk/sacredtravel/ .
