Life Beyond the Casinos | Retired in Palm Desert Life Beyond the Casinos Retired in Palm Desert Politically correct Posted in politics with tags politically correct on October 28, 2024 by jefferyrn After the MSG rally in New York City yesterday, the topic of racially unacceptable jokes and comments have flooded the news.  It seems everyone was offended and yet the excuse is “he’s a comedian”. “It’s a joke. “ Now, I am not going to dignify any of it by repeating it here.  There are many who think that this so-called political correctness has gone too far and these jokes are just that, jokes.  But I disagree.  Words have meaning and therefore consequences. First off this is not news or new.  When I was growing up racial jokes were prevalent.  Whether it was blacks, Mexican,  Polish, Catholics, Jewish, Baptist or even just being blonde, they were based on one format, someone was so stupid, ” how stupid was he?” Okay, I admit to laughing and telling some of these jokes...
