Ci viene in aiuto il Global Study in Homicide che ha elaborato uno studio molto accurato circa i numeri assoluti, le percentuali rispetto alla popolazione e la distribuzione per genere degli omicidi nel mondo, ovviamente di quelli denunciati, negli anni che vanno dal 2000 al 2012. Il primo risultato interessante è che nel mondo viene ammazzata una donna ogni due uomini e, in questo campo, non si hanno notizie di particolari campagne che invochino la parità di genere.
