Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park is a 50km2 reserve located in the centre of Zanzibar and is the island’s only national park, best known for its large number of unique red colobus monkeys. The monkeys maintain a special diet of leaves, flowers and fruits in a combination that can’t be found anywhere else; while other colobus monkeys are found elsewhere in Africa, the Zanzibar red colobus monkeys are endemic to the island and exist nowhere else.
