Seorang mahasiswa riset di tingkat doktoral (S3) yang dibimbing oleh dosen di satu universitas negeri di Malaysia, berujung malah di pengadilan. Si mahasiswa menuntut dosen pembimbing untuk bertanggung jawab atas apa yang terjadi dalam progres studinya, yang berakhir dengan ketidaksuksesan. Ujung kasusnya adalah, pengadilan memenangkan si dosen dan dia tidak bisa diminta untuk ikut menanggung beban yang terjadi dalam progres studi mahasiswa.
