Based on the Class 1 railroad of CSX, and set in the ditch light era of 1997 to the present day, the model railroad is DCC controlled using JMRI software. The ambition is to recreate in miniature, right down to the weathered locomotives and rolling stock, a detailed representation that tells the story of the modern American railroad through the seasons. The layout will use the four sides of the loft to represent each of the four seasons and compass points, with east being spring, south summer, west autumn and north winter.
