Previously we've used protocols and records to implement controllers, but this stopped working in the newer ClojureScript versions. The previous implementation worked "accidentally", so we had to find an alternative. The change Controllers in Keechma have default behavior implemented, and previously we've used the extend-type to implement this behavior.
