MEIA GEDDES - About MEIA GEDDES About Books Birds & Words More Words Audio Other Words Utopias Recycled Words Contact Updates Meia (pronounced may-ah ) Geddes was born in Hefei, China, adopted and raised by her mother in Sacramento, California, and lives in Massachusetts as a librarian at the Boston Public Library. She holds a BA in English and Literary Arts from Brown University and MS in Library and Information Science from Simmons University. After graduating from college, Meia lived and worked in Bloemfontein, South Africa, as a Fulbright fellow. She has also received funding from the American Library Association and Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing. Meia loves writing poems, prose, and everything in-between, singing, painting , handmaking books, folding paper cranes , growing plants, and generally creating beautiful things.
