Pastxting Pastxting Welcome to Pastxting This is a collaboration between Steve Mills and Joseph Reeves of Cardiff University, and we hope very soon some others. With Pastxting we aim to explore relationships between open access and past and present media with particular reference to their role in archaeology and cultural heritage. We understand media as a verb as much as a suite of technologies; they are fundamentally about doing. Brainstorming, digitaling, pastxting… To find out more about the project, please read on. Our premise is that there is no inherent media hierarchy – we do not consider any one medium to be the premium (academic) choice for the production and consumption of knowledge. Instead, we recognise that the various media play different, but complementary, roles and it is through their integration that we can effectively express a multiplicity of ideas about the past.
