by n8kc on December 31, 2013 Dr. Claudette Nebelsick McCarty, 78, passed away on April 1, 2013. She was born in Chicago on June 5, 1934 to Albert and Idolyn Nebelsick. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dr. Bruce McCarty. She is survived by her sisters, Gwen Mahler and LuluLee Levy, her life-long best friend, Mary Ann Conaway, her 5 children (Lee McCarty Fruhling, Meg McCarty Shelly, Bruce McCarty, Michael McCarty and Christopher McCarty) and 8 grandchildren (David and Caroline Fruhling, Michael and Andrew Shelly, Thomas and Jane McCarty and Christopher and Nicholas McCarty). Claudette graduated from Indiana University in 1956 and earned her Masters from Purdue University in 1961.
