Untold Tales: going behind the stories In Autumn 2018 Animate Projects and Anim18 commissioned ‘Untold Tales‘, six micro-animations designed to be shared on Instagram and other digital platforms. Together the animations present an exciting and vibrant collection of stories exploring cultural heritage, historic curiosities, devoted communities, and ways that individuals navigate modern life. They also demonstrate a range of animation techniques – pixilation, hand drawn, digital, stop motion, charcoal, and cut-out animation – and have involved composers, artists, sound designers, editors, and the voices of real people in their production. On Sunday 27 January, at LUX in North London, the makers will talk about the processes, techniques, and the stories that inspired their commissions, as well as an insight into how this work fits within their artistic practice more broadly.
